San Francisco

It's only an hour drive in to San Fran so we drove in for the day on Friday. We walked (and ran) from Pier 1 all the way to Pier 39 and then consumed way too many calories & grease for lunch (couldn't pass up fish and chips tho).
We continued walking down to the USS Pampanito Sub and took a tour of that. Neat to see, but I was getting sea sick after being in it for 2 minutes.
Some other things we saw: Sea Lions, 1st view of Alcatraz, Ghirardelli Square, drove on some steep streets, drove thru China town, stopped at a silver coin shop, saw the cable cars, and drove back home across the Golden Gate Bridge.

One other note, this was the first time I have ever seen men trying to make a buck by sitting on the sidewalk hiding behind some leafy branches they'd cut. They would pop out from behind and say "raaa" & scare the tourists. My first impression was "how dumb" As if I would pay someone after they've just scared me. Story to be continued.
