rollercoasters and such

Since the funeral, Alec has been asking more questions about the bible. Autumn has been reading bible stories to Alec before they go to bed and before they get up. The other morning, I overheard Alec asking Autumn about heaven. He asked her if there would be toys. Autumn said it will be a great place and all we'll care about it being with God & Jesus. She was explaining how nice it will be, and then proceeded to tell him, "just like I was reading last Sunday morning about contentment, you don't come into this world with roller coasters and you won't go out of this world with roller coasters." (she'd been reading in I Tim 6:7...For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.) Nice added touch, to explain to a 7 yr old, huh? It was about 3 yrs ago that Alec had asked the same question, and she told him heaven would be like having all the macaroni and cheese he ever wanted. It's so neat to see their understanding grow....and to see her try to explain it so he will understand. the eyes of a child are truly precious.
