5-year-old-isms

Brendan was explaining to the kids during tonight's FB game that the 2 minute warning is like a time-out. Alec said, "Were the football teams being bad"?

The other day Alec was walking around scratching/digging at his behind, so Brendan said to him, "Is something wrong with your butt?" Alec said, "Well, yeah, it's got a crack in it".

Alec prayed for lunch today and said "Hope we get to heaven more sooner".

I have those moments when I find myself wishing they would hurry & grow up, and then life would be easier....shame, shame, shame on me....these years are so precious....

I have a card by my bedside that reads:

I sometimes wake
in the early morning
& listen to the soft breathing
of my children
& I think
to myself,
this is one thing
I will never regret
& I carry that quiet with me all day long.

Ha... mine has a crack in it, too. ;)

On a more serious note... thanks for sharing your card. It made me cry. Must be a mom thing.

I love the card poem. It gave me shivers. And I laughed at the crack one!
