He came home from school with this today.

Each Kindergartner filled out their own page. "The important thing about __is _____ ". Almost all of the kids wrote for the important thing that they had a big brother/big sister to play with or that they liked to play on the swingset. Alec's was quite original. He said, "The important thing about Alec is that he is himself". He went to Grandma's house as soon as he got off the bus (so she saw it first, and she told me he told her that he maybe should have put "God". ) He's such a pumpkin, I love him! I read a blog entry the other day where a mother wrote a letter to her son. It made my cry. I should do that for my kids, I don't want to forget how they are/have been. Just the other day I realized, I call him "bud" or "buddy" WAY more than I call him "Alec". Not sure how that started, wonder if that will stick? When he's 17 & comes home with his friends, can his 'uncool' mother call him 'bud' infront of them? I hope so!
